Thursday 9am to 10am – Beginners/Improver

Thursday 10am to 11am – Intermediate/Advance (Team players or seeking double play)

Thursday morning dates: September 15, 22^nd & 29^th October 13^th & 20^th November 3^rd, 10^th, 17^th & 24^th December 1^st, 8^th & 15^th

 

Friday 11am to 12pm – Beginner & Improver

Friday morning dates: September 16^th, 23^rd & 30^th October 14^th & 21^st November 4^th, 11^th, 18^th & 25^th December 2^nd, 9^th & 16^th

 

Sunday 10:30am 11:30am – Rusty Rackets club mix in special

Friday morning dates: September 18^th & 25^rd October 2^nd,  16^th & 23^rd November 6^th, 13^th, 20^th & 27^th December 4^th, 11^th & 18^th

 

All the above are 12 weeks 

Member rate:  £98 per person

Non member rate: £144 per person

Winter Floodlight Court Schedule.

 Hi Colin, 

We you have enjoyed playing this summer.

Now that the daylight is fading the club will be starting the new winter schedule for weekday evenings.

With the club being reduced to 2 courts we still need to cater for all our members requirements.

From the week beginning Monday 10th October club nights will take place on courts 1 & 2 on Tuesday nights ONLY from 6:30pm to 9pm members can therefore book courts on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.

Operating the floodlights:

The turn key for the lights are located in the clubhouse immediately on the right. To turn on please only turn clockwise a small way until the orange light goes on.  This indicates that the floodlights are on.

The lights will automatically turn off at 9pm the lights on the middle pole will remain on for 10 minutes for ball collection and court clearance.

Court tidiness:

Please ensure that the padlock is secure (court 1) or the gate is shut (court 2) 

Do not leave rubbish, old balls or ball tins on the courts.

LET THERE BE LIGHT. The floodlights are now back working.

LET THERE BE LIGHT. 
 

The floodlights are now back working.

Please be reminded that in order to turn the lights on a simple flick of the key clockwise (on) or anti clockwise (off) is enough.  The orange light indicates whether the lights are on or off.

The lights will automatically turn off at 9pm with the central pillar of floodlights staying on for a further 10 minutes to allow you to gather your belongings to leave.

Please do not use any force to turn the lights on or off. 

The courts are now ready to book for everyone to enjoy.

CLUB COMMUNICATIONS

We have listened and taken feedback from our valued members so we will be releasing our monthly newsletters which will include: General Club Information, Membership, Club Nights, Coaching, Events, News and More! Anthing more urgent will be sent individually. This will be launching in the coming months.

MEMERSHIP

Please be reminded that membership runs from 1st April to 31 March every year.  If you have not done so please rember to renew your membership.  Membership also includes free use of floodlights for evening bookings.  From 20222/23 our family membership includes upto 5 children for free!

CLUB NIGHTS

The summer timetable is now in action which means that club nights on both Tuesday and Thursday will begin at 5:30pm and run through to 9pm when the floodlights are to be switched off. 

The committee have agreed that if there are 6 players or more are in attendence then it is advised that everyone accross all courts change after 8 games.  This will maximise the game play and allow players to change without being left out.  

Club nights will run on both Tuesday and Thursday through to the 27th October when it will return to the winter timetable of Tuesdays from 6:30pm-9pm.

COACHING 

One week remains of the clubs Easter Holiday Camps which can be booked via www.mysportspro.co.uk.  There is limited space available.

COMPETITION

With Covis hopefully behind us this years club championships entries will be announced soon.  However, finals day is set for the weekend of 24th/25th September.  All enteries must be members

We have entered the club for "play your way to wimbledon" to previously named Road to Wimbledon.  This is includes - singles upto U14 and doubles upto U18 for both boys and girls.  To register interest please email info@mysportspro.co.uk - All players must be members of the club

Great news!! Floodlights, Resurfaced Courts ready for use. Plus other news.

 Great news!!

We have at last got floodlights and the bonus of resurfaced courts.

Courts 1 and 2 are now open for booking. The lights can be turned on in the club house via a key mechanism.

The lights will auto turn off at 9pm. One light will remain on for 10 minutes to allow safe exit with some lighting.

If you leave the courts before auto turn off then please do turn them off at the club house before leaving.

Don't forget to lock up !

We will have an official opening of the floodlit courts, there are rumours of the Mayor cutting the ribbon. This will happen after the courts have been painted. Look out for further news.

If you have been to the club recently you will notice that the works are nearing final sign off.  We are waiting for the courts to be painted, green and green!, after Easter when the weather is best.  In the meantime, we can use the courts with the temporary lines marked out.  This is so exciting time for our club. If you are like me then you will be eager to get out and play on the super flat surface and with lights.

With the new courts and floodlights come some changes to club sessions and club coaching programs. This has been a challenge top accommodate everyone so please do bear with us as we monitor usage going forward to make sure everyone benefits.

The initial schedule for Court 1 & Court 2 is set out below.

The Summer runs from April through to October and Winter October through to April based on daylight hours.

There is a lot of mud around courts 1 and 2 and with the painting scheduled to take place within the next couple of weeks they need to be kept as clean as possible.  Therefore, we ask if you could please wear a different pair of shoes or cover your shoes and change before entering.  We have placed a bench outside the courts for this purpose.

Membership renewals are due from the 1st April, 2022. The packages are available on the web site now for you to renew. We have increased prices by a small amount to help cover the cost of lights, and to help pay back an LTA loan we needed to get the courts resurfaced and lights installed. We have altered the Family Package to allow for 2 adults and multiple children from the same family, previously you could only add 2 children.

New Adult & Junior Team Training

Tom and Club Captain Jeremy have been working to develop the already popular Mixed Adult Monday Team Training.  This is to develop the clubs offering to strength the depth of all team squads and hopefully in time introduce new teams.  All training is for both Female and Male members wanting to be involved in team fixtures taking place on Saturdays and Sundays.  The first session is open to all who meet the above criteria and starts at 6pm. Rember, this is specifically for members who wish to represent Henley Tennis Club in team matches which take place on Saturdays and Sundays.  They structured specifically towards fixtures and doubles play.  Numbers are restricted so if you want to find out more and get involved, please get in touch with Tom directly info@mysportspro.co.uk or 07795562292.  

The Second session is for both Female and Male members and is based on selection so please get in contact Tom info@mysportspro.co.uk or Club Captain Jeremy Wright to find out more.

Junior Team Training Wednesday Nights

Tom is thrilled to be able to finally offer a Junior Team Training session on Wednesdays.  This is for our stronger juniors wishing to represent our club in the Oxfordshire Junior Winter and Summer League.  All juniors must have a British Junior Membership which is available for FREE via the LTA website.  Players must already be on the coaching program and this session is to run alongside existing coaching and does not act as a replacement.  Players must also be available to compete on weekends for Club fixtures.  For more information, please contact Tom directly info@mysportspro.co.uk

Other News

Henley Tennis Club were shortlisted for LTA Tennis Oxfordshire Club of the Year 2022 which is a great honour unfortunately coming behind North Oxford Lawn Tennis Club.  At the same awards Tom was shortlisted for LTA Tennis Oxfordshire Development Coach of the Year in which he won!! We are grateful for the work he has done at the club and its great to see it paying off.  The award means he now go through the LTA Regional Awards where is goes up against 8 other counties. 

The Club are running Easter Holiday Camps over a two week period from the 11th April to 14th April and 19th April to 22nd April.  All can now be booked online via www.mysportspro.co.uk
