We now have a defibrillator at the club, supported by ‘Millie’s Dream’ charity.
It is currently on
the side of the clubhouse but the aim is to move it to public ground between
the courts so that, if needed, it could be accessed by members of the general
public. Unfortunately this is not possible until groundworks have been carried
out for the flood lights.
No training is
needed to use it, as it is automated, and it can be used on children and
adults. It can be accessed via a code given by the emergency services when they
are phoned, in the case of a cardiac arrest- they will also stay on the phone
until paramedics arrive.
Video link below to
demonstrate the simple use on an adult:
If anyone does ever
have cause to use it, please do inform Claire- Health and safety officer (as
per website) so that replacement pads can be obtained.
Many thanks, Claire
- Health and Safety Officer
